A dropped object is defined as 'any object that falls from its previous static position under its own weight'. If an object falls, the force of gravity will pull it towards the ground and if you happen to be in the way you'll be hit; it's as simple as that.
The degree to which you might get injured will be influenced by many factors, but the simple rule of thumb is, the heavier or the further an object can fall, the more damage and injury it can cause. This course will help you identify potential dropped objects, and look at ways to reduce the risk of harm.

ECITB Accredited Mechanical Joint Integrity Training
Delegates will be trained in all aspects of disassembly, inspection, assembly and tightening of bolted connections.

The aim of this course is to provide existing level one candidates with the skills and knowledge required to rig working ropes, undertake rescues from a variety of situations and assemble and implement hauling systems under the supervision of an IRATA level three rope access safety supervisor
This course is for level two candidates with a minimum of twelve months varied experience and 1000 logged, working level two hours in their log book.
All IRATA certification is valid for three years from the date of assessment and revalidations can be done six months prior to expiry of existing qualification without losing any time on said qualification.
If rope access Technicians are not using rope access techniques regularly, they should be evaluated for competence prior to the commencement of operational duties.

This course is intended for personnel appointed as an organisation's LOLER Competent Person. The LOLER Competent Person plans or approves all lifting operations in the workplace and ensures lifting operations comply with LOLER regulations and company procedures. The course provides an assessment of the LOLER Competent Person's competence.
This course is designed to give Installation Supervisory level personnel in-depth coverage of LOLER 98 Regulations and requirements in order that they might set up controls and systems to implement LOLER requirements.
We can define manual handling as 'the transportation or supporting of a load by hand or by bodily force'. Surprisingly, it is not dramatic accidents that cause most lost time incidents on and offshore, but strains and sprains caused by relatively straightforward activities. 20% of all offshore accidents and injuries are a result of manual handling activities, making them a major source of lost time. This course will provide you with some national statistics about manual handling, show you what can happen if you don't perform it correctly, and give you some constructive advice to help you with manual handling activities in the workplace.

This course is intended for personnel directly responsible for the provision, use and administration of work equipment. The course content can be varied to concentrate on the aspects of PUWER 98 (amended 2002) that most interest or apply to the client.
The reach truck operator course aims to provide novice, semi-skilled or competence assessment of existing operators. There are two levels for this training. The one day course is intended as an assessment of competence for existing reach truck operators who hold valid certification. It is also suitable for operators holding a valid certificate to upgrade to a heavier lifting capacity forklift. The three day course is intended for novice operators with little or no experience.
This course is aimed at personnel responsible for the issuing and control of lifting equipment from a Rigging Loft onboard an offshore installation, or a shore based workplace. There is an initial test paper to demonstrate inherent level of knowledge on the subject. The course also culminates in a short test paper on lifting equipment inspection.

It covers: the real cost of slips, trips and falls, who is affected, what the main causes are, how to prevent slips, trips and falls, and what your, and your employers responsibilities in the workplace are.

Stage 1 forms the theoretical basis for offshore crane operations and is aimed at novice crane operators or those operators who require the industry accepted qualification. Stage 2 should follow as soon as possible after stage 1 and is conducted at the trainee’s normal offshore installation.
Stage 2 training should follow as soon as is practicable after Stage 1 training. This training aims to give the Trainee Crane Operator hands-on training in the offshore crane that he will be expected to operate.
On completion of stage 2 the Trainee or Assistant Crane Operator will be restricted to deck work, under supervision of the Installation Crane Operator. If appropriate, and when deemed competent to progress to vessel work (usually after approx 40 hours deck work) the Operator will be reassessed and may then progress to supervised vessel work.
The stage 3 assessment progression is designed as an evaluation of the candidates' skill as a crane operator, usually after completing 40 hours of crane operations. The assessment evaluates the competencies of the candidate operating the crane, as per stage 2, but also concentrates on the planning and understanding of the lifting process.
This very popular course provides candidates with an appreciation of fitting and adaptor selection to meet agreed specifications, enabling a more authoritative approach to be made when selecting items to match correct pressures, fluid, main component ports, prevent damage and be aware of health and safety implications. To provide a better understanding to those involved in the commissioning and maintenance of such items.
The aim of this course is to provide individuals with the skills to carry out work at height using personal fall protection equipment such as full body harnesses, energy absorbing lanyards, work positioning lanyards and mobile fall arresters. The course will involve classroom and practical elements.
This Working at Height course is designed to give the learner an awareness of what working at height is, the hazards associated with working at height and the various methods of access, including MEWPS, scaffolding and ladders. Other subjects covered include personal restraint systems and risk assessment. Course duration is 30-40 minutes.
