EnerMech's hydraulic and electrical testing division is highly skilled in carrying out testing of umbilicals during the pre-commissioning duration, including pre-and-post load out tests, pre abandonment test, post pull in and post hook up tests.
It is critical that systems and valves controlled by hydraulic umbilicals use fluid cleaned to the required specification. Umbilicals with different fluid cores and pressure ratings are separated into groups and pressurised through a common manifold to ensure testing is carried out. Calibrated instrumentation and PRVs are routinely used by EnerMech to ensure the correct pressures are adhered to.
Subsea operations require trustworthy electrical power cables to provide crucial control and data transmission. EnerMech provides electrical testing for these cables, on all the above stages of pre-commissioning activities, for continuity resistance (CR), insulation resistance (IR) and time domain reflectometry (TDR).
CR testing carried out by EnerMech can be carried out on looped quads or umbilicals where we have access to both ends. CR testing will ensure there is continuity throughout the length of the conductors.
IR Testing can be carried out on individual or looped quads. Quads of the same size can also be tied together to test as a bundle, saving time for our customers. IR testing on a quad can be carried out against other quads or against the cable screen. Voltage used for IR testing can be discussed and agreed between EnerMech and client on a project specific basis.
TDR Testing carried out by EnerMech can be used to find faults within a conductor on single or looped conductors. The test uses a high frequency pulse which is transmitted along the conductor with a reflection signature or trace received back to the TDR test set. Faults will be highlighted on the final trace and can be compared to FAT results.
EnerMech’s pressure and CR wireless monitoring provides efficient and accurate monitoring over manual or wired approaches. Using our wireless technology, we support operators to optimise ongoing well production, while acquiring a better understanding of long-term performance.
Our dedicated team carry out pressure monitoring by connecting pressure transducers to umbilical cores or a manifold. A wireless receiver will transfer this data to a laptop which provides a live feed of the pressures within the umbilical. Should the pressure fall below a specified value, EnerMech will stop operations to allow topping up operations to be carried out.
CR Monitoring is carried out by measuring the continuity resistance of a quad (or group of quads). Conductors will be looped at the second end to allow for successful CR monitoring. A wireless receiver will transfer data to a laptop which can give a live feed of the continuity resistance within the conductors. We are then able to advise our clients should there be any spikes in the CR while lay operations are on-going, indicating possible damage to the umbilical. Should this happen further testing can be carried out by EnerMech.
Using EnerMech’s wireless technology, we provide cost effective and efficient monitoring to umbilical cores and manifolds, especially those located in challenging locations.
EnerMech will ensure that fluids used within umbilicals are cleaned to the required specification. Typically, we will clean fluids to the below standards:
Cleaning can take place prior to mobilisation or on vessel or platform. Once cleaning is complete Fluid Cleanliness certificates are presented to our customers and samples of fluids are kept for a dedicated time thereafter. By continuously flushing the fluids through filters we achieve a high level of cleanliness to ensure standards are maintained throughout the duration of operations.
EnerMech is the industry leading subsea umbilical testing and commissioning company, providing complete support across the broad range of hydraulic, electrical and fibre optic testing, wireless monitoring and umbilical cleanliness management and flushing.
We have significant experience in delivering diverse workscopes in often continually changing circumstances. Through providing an integrated approach we can harness the collective services of all EnerMech's business lines, allowing an unrivalled service range.
EnerMech offers a range of remote visual inspection / in-pipe camera inspection services providing accurate pictures of conditions inside process plant, pipework, vessels/tanks, pumps and turbines, Risers/caissons/J-tubes, Valves, umbilicals and drains. Providing these services allows our technical experts to save time, resource and cost in determining the actual status of process systems.
The range of cameras at our disposal allow for RVI services in all types of applications such as predictive or scheduled maintenance, pre commissioning, integrity and RBI, construction, cleanliness inspection, troubleshooting or pre-decommissioning inspections.
RVI as a recognized NDT service can be used in a wide variety of cost effective and safe applications, such as internal weld inspection, no man entry vessel inspections, structural integrity audits, coating inspections, cleanliness, inspection, pitting & corrosion survey, and checking for build-up of sand, wax or scale.
EnerMech’s camera inspection services offer many benefits and features. The cameras are not only easy to use and deploy, they cause minimal disruption of production and are capable of recording findings. Our RVI training, analysis and reporting methods allow for quick and accurate identification and reporting of any issues.
EnerMech provides camera inspection services across industry sectors around the world. These services can enhance both the quality and safety of any project undertaken through system ownership, reducing interfaces and cross-discipline communication.
EnerMech, is a specialist service company providing nitrogen, nitrogen helium, air or air helium leak testing, together with a full range of other pre-commissioning services. We have carried out numerous leak testing activities on a wide range of new build oil, gas, petrochemical and LNG projects. Our personnel have many years of industry experience carrying out safe and reliable pneumatic testing both on and offshore.
Our developed procedures for pneumatic leak testing have a greater level of detail and HSE control to reduce the risks to as low as practically possible. We have also introduced to the industry our proprietary System Integrity Management software (SIM) that combines flange management and pneumatic test pack creation by simply marking up P&ID’s and ISO’s electronically.
The SIM generated leak test pack will reference a three-part permit system, which is an essential tool for controlling pressure testing operations. The philosophy of the three-part permit system is to eliminate the potential of any personnel working on a system that is pressurised or partly pressurised.
At EnerMech we provide specialist hydrotesting, nitrogen / helium leak testing, pneumatic leak testing and a range of other pre-commissioning services. We recognise that verifying the integrity of systems through hydrotesting is a critical activity with a safe, timely and controlled execution being key success factors.
Our team of experts are well experienced when carrying out hydrostatic activities on a wide range of new build oil, gas, petrochemical and LNG projects. We have the capability to hydrostatic test up to 207 MPa (207,000 kPa / 30,000 PSI). To complement our services in hydrotesting we also offer a full flange management and test pack creation using our unique software SIM.
As well as providing hydrotesting services in isolation we can provide a full turnkey offering which would be controlled via our bespoke System Integrity Management (SIM) software, such as, project management, engineering and test pack compilation, total flange management, controlled bolting, system hydrotesting, pool testing, camera inspection, chemical cleaning, water flushing, high pressure water jetting, air blowing, drying and pneumatic pressure testing (air, helium, nitrogen or nitrogen helium).
At EnerMech we provide a comprehensive range of insulation and cladding services, including provision of insulation materials for thermal, cryogenic and acoustic applications; this is complemented by a complete sheet metal fabrication & cladding service.
