Vice President of US Operations Alan Sweeney is an industry veteran of over 22 years. Alan has been an industry leader in innovation and holds a number of patents specifically tailored to ultra-deepwater markets.
He has extensive knowledge of pre-commissioning and commissioning both onshore and offshore pipeline and process systems. This has led him to be involved with many world-class projects around the globe. Alan was previously a shareholder of Valkyrie Commissioning Services Inc., a pipeline and process commissioning and decommissioning business based Houston that was sold to Weatherford in 2006. He is currently the Vice President of Operations for the Americas region.
Corporate Development Director Ingrid Stewart is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Ingrid spent 16 years in professional services before joining EnerMech as Corporate Development Director in December 2012.
Prior to joining EnerMech, Ingrid was a director at energy specialist investment bank, Simmons & Company. In her role at Simmons, Ingrid advised EnerMech on several strategic acquisitions, its investment by Lime Rock Partners and the securing of debt finance, and has advised the company since its establishment in mid-2008.
Ingrid's role as Corporate Development Director is focused on finding, executing and integrating strategic acquisitions, strategy and communications.
HR Director Shirley Smith graduated with a degree in business studies and prior to becoming an HR professional, she held roles in supply chain management and as a senior manager within a recruitment business.
On completing her HR qualification, Shirley worked for Kvaerner Oil & Gas where her experience included recruitment for the Elgin Franklin development. On leaving Kvaerner, she moved to Petrofac where she was heavily involved in transitioning seven major contracts to the Duty Holder model.
Shirley joined Ensco in 2007 to manage its HR function for Europe and Africa, supporting 10 rigs in over five countries. She enjoys being part of a thriving business and joined EnerMech in its first year of operating. Shirley has played a key part in the growth of the business, having led the growth of its employee base from 280 in 2009 to over 1800 in 2013.
International Commercial Director Alan McLean began his career as a project engineer with a small hydraulic engineering company, following which he joined Norson Power in 1994 as a sales engineer.
After six years with Norson Power in Glasgow, he relocated to Aberdeen in 2000 to take up the role of Technical Support Manager. In 2007, he and a colleague led a management buyout of Norson Group and, after a period of growth, sold the business to EnerMech Ltd in 2010 in a £12m deal.
Alan lead a £4m investment, internalisation and growth of our Hydraulics business line following EnerMech's acquisition of Norson Power. He became International Contracts Director in 2013 and changed roles to become International Commercial Director in 2015.
