Shaun, aged 18, 1st Year NC Student, attends Banff & Buchan College 1 day per week, previous placements include PPU, Valves, Rigging & Lifting and is currently working in Equipment Rental.
In Shaun's words:
“What I enjoy the most about my apprenticeship at EnerMech is that I get to experience working in all of the different departments and work with new people every 3 months. The only dislike I have about my apprenticeship is that 3 months is sometimes not long enough to gain a good in depth knowledge in certain departments as I spend 3 days a week at college”.
“I see myself as being a well trained valuable employee and hope to work offshore and maybe later in life work for the company in one of their bases abroad. Once I have completed my apprenticeship I wish to work offshore and work for the department I enjoyed the most throughout my apprenticeship”.
“So far my favourite workshop is hydraulics as there have constantly been jobs to do and everyone gets on well”.
“Tips I would give to future apprentices is to work hard and carry out instructions when asked to do so. If you do this you will have no problems at all”.
