Pipe freezing

Pipe Freezing

At EnerMech we offer a range of pipe freezing services and engineering solutions. Our expert team has significant experience in keeping critical pipe systems online and preventing unwanted shutdowns.

This service can also be combined with a bolting crew to aid in destruct of flanges/valves and reinstatement as a joint service.

Pipe freezing is a method of isolating a pipework system to carry out repairs or modifications, or even during the construction stage, when it would be costly, time consuming, inconvenient or even dangerous to drain down the system.

At EnerMech we can carry out work while the applicable systems remain ‘live’ and under pressure at all times. This can be done while multiple sections are isolated for maintenance. We will also send out one crew throughout the operation freeze, replace pipework or valves and reinstatement which means the project will be efficient and cost effective.

Pipeline Integrity Management System

At EnerMech we have made a significant investment in our bespoke software package called System Integrity Management (SIM) which has been developed to support joint integrity management, including flange management, on an end to end basis. The system is real time, web based and designed for life of assets used and has addressed many of the inefficiencies which we see so often during pre- commissioning and shutdown activities. These include the inaccuracy of test packs, the length of time taken to engineer test packs due to manual input, changing test pack limits and updating P&ID’s results in re-engineered and rewritten test packs.

SIM eliminates restrictions found in traditional systems by allowing test packs to be readily modified or re-issued for similar scopes, more user-friendly flange management systems which support “life of asset” and with real time “up to date” progress monitoring on major projects.

Functionality headlines include Flange management, multi-tool bolt calculator, full joint history, linkage and overlay capability for all construction, precommissioning and shutdown activities, live data feed, electronic work pack/report generation, video & pdf holding and automated change function.

SIM also offers clients considerable savings which can be realised in preparatory works, due to electronic test pack compilation, storage and change system.

PSV Recertification and Repair

At EnerMech we offer onsite testing, recertification, repair and inventory management to our clients’ valve requirements. We can deliver a range of services from turn-key to simple gap-filling to complement and/or supplement our clients’ existing integrity management programme.

Our specialist personnel deliver onsite re-certification of PSVs through mobile testing and repair containers which are capable of testing valves from any manufacturer, at any facility either onshore or offshore. Our offshore workshop containers include a PSV testing facility capable of testing conventional and pilot relief valves from ½” to 8” using Nitrogen or Water as test mediums up to pressures of 414 BarG. We also deliver field testing and repair of valves, in-situ PSV re-certification, online monitoring of valve data and valve inventory management.

Our engineering support is available both onshore and offshore. We can offer project management, procurement and field expediting services. Our on-site technical drawing office is fully equipped with software packages; SolidWorks 3D modelling, AutoCAD, Finite Element, CFD package. Personnel are available to undertake criticality studies of existing valves, along with stock management programmes, survey work and procurement. We also employ dedicated personnel in document control and support.

All projects are delivered through our online Valve Integrity Management Database, integrated with EnerMech Live. The Valve Integrity Management Database has been developed to give our clients immediate, web-based access to a register of all valves within their inventory.

EnerMech LIVE, is a user friendly, state of the art bespoke management tool developed in-house to record and monitor valve data. It is login and password protected and permissions to the various functions can be set up as required. All data can be accessed, real time, via any portable computer with an internet connection. The system provides our clients with 24/7; 365 days a year access to their valve data and allows the client to retrieve information at the click of a button.

This system is unique to EnerMech and can be tailored to any of our client’s Valve Data Management System requirements and can even be engineered to interface directly with the client’s ERP system.

Onsite Machining and Engineering Repairs

At EnerMech we have the expertise and knowledge to deliver onsite machining services, offering our clients engineering repairs and solutions at the worksite.

Ideal for new construction projects, modifications, planned shutdowns and emergency repairs, our field personnel are experience in working in remote locations eliminating the need for you to ship equipment out for repair and significantly reducing both downtime and cost.

Our team can offer full turnkey services, which reduces the need for multiple subcontractors during your planned and unplanned shutdowns. Services include flange facing, hub re-machining, RTJ machining, weld excavation, pipe cutting and end prep, stud removal, milling, line boring, drilling, tapping, full exchanger machining service, match boring and trepanning.

Having skilled personnel on hand to deliver improvements and adjustments onsite ensures productivity, efficiency and cost effective solutions to problems which could otherwise cause costly delays. Our fully qualified machinists use the latest and most advanced equipment which enables us to execute high tolerance machining work on a ‘right first time’ basis. Combined with our engineering capability, we can engineer bespoke solutions for our customers, repeatedly offering a safe, fast and comprehensive service.

Oil flushing

Oil Flushing

At EnerMech we are all too aware that solid particulate contamination is the largest cause of component failure in hydraulic and lube oil systems. However, we know that with effective oil flushing, this contamination can be eliminated.

Our team of specialist oil flushing technicians are trained, not just on the specific flushing equipment, but also in
the philosophy of flushing. This comprehensive understanding, coupled with our Flowpulse technology allows us to deliver fast, effective and efficient oil flushing services which include; hydraulic oil flushing, high volume water flushing, lube oil flushing, demineralised water flushing and pressure testing.

Air Blowing

Air Blowing

The process of Air Blowing is used for both the cleaning and drying of process systems and pipe work. At EnerMech our team of specialists’ carryout this post construction activity for intervention to ensure that a system is free of debris, before a decompression air blow can take place.

A detailed engineering review is undertaken to determine the optimum flow rate to achieve the desired cleanliness result, and ensure an operational flow rate is exceeded by a factor of 150%.

Once the system is pressurized to a pre-determined pressure, the system is immediately decompressed to the right atmosphere using either a rupture disk or alternatively a fast action full bore valve system. This is done through a noise reducing receiver, which acts as a filter for any debris. The decompression process continues until the required cleanliness levels have been achieved.

The decompression process continues until the required cleanliness levels have been achieved, with follow on air blowing undertaken as necessary to achieve the correct dryness.
